Dear community members and stakeholders,
Bailey's Heart and Soul Foundation has joined forces with Chesapeake AED Services to promote AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) Save Stations in your sports fields, parks, clubs, places of worship, business offices or other places in your community. This effort is called AED in Time.
Baileys Heart and Soul Foundation is a non-profit foundation formed in my son Bailey's honor. Bailey died suddenly of cardiac arrest after an organized track and field event. He was an avid athlete who played football, basketball, and ran track. Bailey’s premature death motivated me to develop an organization to give knowledge to our community on how to respond to cardiac emergencies.
Statistics show that immediate use of an AED combined with quality CPR can increase the likelihood of survival by 75% or more; however, all too often, AEDs are not publicly accessible within a 5 minute response time. Together with Chesapeake AED Services an individual, neighborhood, corporate or community entity can bring a Save Station to their location of choice.
